Draw the attention of friendly pollinators to your garden with the Cuphea ‘Bee Magnet’ collection. Featuring three different varieties with punchy colours, each just as impressive as the last. Exotic-looking flowers boast crinkled petals, which surround a central tube, erupting from a green and healthy bush.

Perfect for planting in hot sunny borders, or as a feature in a patio pot or container, this trio is ready to burst to life from the tail end of spring, all the way through to autumn. Despite the flowers appearing small in stature, the overall plant branches tightly and quickly become overwhelmed with an abundance of flowers and colour.

Care Guide

Planting Advice:

• Unpack plugs immediately and stand them in water for an hour.
• If you can’t do this, they can sit in their mini greenhouse for a week if upright and not too wet.
• Plugs may be slightly dry or yellow after being in a dark box in the post, but they’ll quickly recover. Put them somewhere warm, light and airy such as a windowsill or greenhouse.
• Pot up and grow on in warm, frost free conditions until all risk of frost has passed. Alternatively, plant them where they are to flower - again when all risk of frost has passed.
• When potting on, handle plugs carefully. Pot on using our 9cm pots in Shuttle Trays, using good multi-purpose compost.
• Give your plants a good water initially, then only when the top compost starts to dry. They don’t like to be left in standing water.
• Plant approx. 20cm apart to allow them room to grow.
• Feed using a high-potash feed such as Blooming Fast Superior Soluble Fertiliser for Flowers & Fruits, to encourage flowering.

Aftercare Advice:

• This collection can tolerate some partial shade, but if you're looking for the maximum blooms on compact plants then best results are achieved when grown in full sun where they can get at least 6-8 hours of light.
• Plants prefer moist, well-drained soil rich in organic matter and so if you grow them in containers, choose a potting mix designed for use in pots.
• Water them regularly but take care not to overwater and this can cause root problems and fewer blooms.

Our experienced team at the nursery will always carefully package and send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive once you receive and plant them. Although most plants are extremely tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme of weather conditions, we always avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme frosts or heat is forecast. We also avoid dispatching orders over Bank Holiday weekends.

We send most of our orders via a fully tracked courier service with Yodel. We will send you a tracking link as soon as your order has been dispatched. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, we will not require a signature on delivery, and we ask out couriers to leave your item in a safe place ad your delivery address.
