Amaryllis 'Red Velvet' Gift Pack

Amaryllis are a simply stunning flowering bulb that make a perfect gift idea during the autumn and winter months. This indoor bulb kit will make a wonderful treat for either yourself or for family and friends. This kit comes complete with everything needed to grow your own fabulous Amaryllis 'Red Velvet'. They can produce more than one flower stem with each growing up to four, large, trumpet-shaped blooms in a striking shade of crimson red from November through to January.

To successfully grow your Amaryllis bulb, plant it 8 weeks before you want it to flower. Keep the top third of the bulb above the compost, make sure you are always keeping it moist, and it will grow to approx. 60cm tall during the winter months.

• Turn your Amaryllis regularly to keep the stems straight and stop them bending towards the light.

Care Guide

• Plant your Amaryllis with the top third of the bulb above the compost surface.
• Water regularly, keeping the compost moist.
• Grow in a bright, warm spot, ideally above 20°C (68°F).
• Feed regularly to encourage larger flowers, tomato food is perfect!

Keep your Amaryllis for the next year!

• After flowering, cut the stems down to a few centimetres above the bulb, but leave the leaves in place.
• Continue to water and feed throughout the year until autumn, then move the plant to a dark place and stop
• watering, letting the leaves die off.
• In November, bring you Amaryllis back into the light and begin watering and feeding again.
• New leaves and flower stems will grow, and as the bulb has been well fed, it should flower even better than the previous year.

Our experienced team at the nursery will always carefully package and send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive once you receive and plant them. Although most plants are extremely tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme of weather conditions, we always avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme frosts or heat is forecast. We also avoid dispatching orders over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please allow us 5 - 7 working days to dispatch your order. If you have ordered a 'pre-order' item, these will be sent out as soon as possible after the quoted dispatch date and we generally ship your entire order with any pre-ordered items. Once your order has been dispatched, we will send you an email with details on how you can track it.

We send most of our orders via a fully tracked courier service with Yodel. We will send you a tracking link as soon as your order has been dispatched. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, we will not require a signature on delivery, and we ask out couriers to leave your item in a safe place ad your delivery address.

For smaller and single-item orders, we may send these via the post with Royal Mail - Tracking will not be available for orders sent via this method.
