Pear 'Garden Pearl' Patio Tree

One of the easiest ways of producing delicious fruits on the patio - a compact and reliable pear tree. This self-fertile and dwarf patio fruit tree boasts a crop of dark green and juicy fruits.

Everything about the 'Garden Pearl' tree is miniature - except for the yearly yield of fruit! Slow growing in nature, able to look top notch on the patio without taking over too much space. In fact, across 10 years or so, this tree will barely reach 1.2m tall!

So easy to grow, it produces lovely pure white blossom displays in April, followed by luscious juicy pears in late summer. As a self-fertile fruit tree, this does not require a second variety to be planted nearby for pollination - just plant it out and leave it to impress.

Supplied as a well-branched, dwarf bare root tree at around 50cm tall.

Top Tips

Care Guide

• Apply a slow-release fertiliser, such as Blood, Fish and Bone in early spring, and mulch to retain moisture.
• Water regularly and don't let the soil dry out if planted in pots.
• Established trees don't require radical pruning; just take off any diseased, dying, or damaged branches. Look at the overall shape and aim for an open structure of branches, and remove any that cross over so they don't damage each other.
• Hang wasp traps in trees and harvest crops as soon as they ripen. Avoid leaving windfalls or overripe fruit on the ground.
• Don't forget the tree guards as rabbits can strip the bark overnight.

Our experienced team at the nursery will always carefully package and send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive once you receive and plant them. Although most plants are extremely tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme of weather conditions, we always avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme frosts or heat is forecast. We also avoid dispatching orders over Bank Holiday weekends.

We send most of our orders via a fully tracked courier service with Yodel. We will send you a tracking link as soon as your order has been dispatched. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, we will not require a signature on delivery, and we ask out couriers to leave your item in a safe place ad your delivery address.
