Make room for a blackberry that starts the autumn harvest while summer is still in full swing!

'Montblanc' is an early-cropping primocane blackberry, producing large, glossy fruits from August and keeping the harvest coming through September and into October.

The berries have a sweet, aromatic taste and are every bit as tempting as they look. Pick them fresh for an easy garden snack, scatter them over cereal or yoghurt, or collect a bowlful for crumbles, pies, jams and preserves.

Its primocane growth makes the plant refreshingly easy to manage. The fruit develops on canes grown during the same year, removing much of the confusion that can come with pruning traditional blackberries. After the final harvest, cut the fruited stems back to ground level. New shoots will emerge in spring and develop into the next season's fruiting canes.

Hardy, vigorous and upright, 'Montblanc' reaches around 2m tall and thrives in full sun. Grow it in a productive fruit garden or sunny border, providing support as the canes develop.

With an early start, a long picking window and little pruning fuss, this is a rewarding way to enjoy freshly harvested blackberries well into autumn.

Care Information

Water your potted plant well on arrival and allow it to drain fully.
Choose a basket or container at least 35cm in diameter filled with good quality compost such as our own premium professional compost.
Dig a hole a little deeper and 3 x wider than the nursery pot.
Add a soil conditioner such as well-rotted manure to the earth removed from the hole if necessary.
Remove the plant from its pot and tease out a few of the roots.
Place your plant in the hole at the same level at the pot.
Refill the hole with the earth removed (backfilling).

Delivery Information

Our experienced team at the nursery will always carefully package and send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive once you receive and plant them. Although most plants are extremely tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme of weather conditions, we always avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme frosts or heat is forecast. We also avoid dispatching orders over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. If you have ordered a 'pre-order' item, these will be sent out as soon as possible after the quoted dispatch date and we generally ship your entire order with any pre-ordered items. Once your order has been dispatched, we will send you an email with details on how you can track it.

We send most of our orders via a fully tracked courier service with Yodel. We will send you a tracking link as soon as your order has been dispatched. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, we will not require a signature on delivery, and we ask out couriers to leave your item in a safe place ad your delivery address.

If you have delivery instruction and require our courier to leave your item in a specific place, please let us know - there is an option to leave a message for the courier at the checkout.

For smaller and single-item orders, we may send these via the post with Royal Mail - Tracking will not be available for orders sent via this method.
