Description

Bring a bold splash of Mediterranean charm to your home or garden with this stunning fruiting Citrus Kumquat tree. A striking member of the citrus family, this tree is both highly decorative and impressively productive, arriving laden with vibrant orange fruits. No waiting, no fuss - just instant impact and a spectacular centrepiece that will draw admiration from the moment it arrives.

Beyond its beautiful, glossy evergreen foliage, this tree offers a multi-seasonal display. In spring, it bursts into bloom with fragrant white flowers, filling the air with a refreshing citrus scent. As the seasons progress, these blossoms transform into a generous crop of small, golden-orange kumquats, which continue ripening into late autumn and winter. The fruit is a delight - thin-skinned, sweet, tart, and tangy all at once, creating a uniquely satisfying burst of flavour.

Unlike most citrus, kumquats are best eaten whole, as the naturally sweet peel balances the bright, zesty flesh inside. Whether you enjoy them fresh, turn them into homemade marmalades, mix them into cocktails, or use them for zesty desserts and sauces, this tree provides a homegrown citrus experience like no other.

Kumquats thrive in a warm, sheltered outdoor position from late March to October, making them ideal for pots and patios. As temperatures drop in autumn, simply bring your tree indoors, where it will continue to flower and fruit, extending its beauty throughout the year.

As with all Citrus products, make sure to apply our Blooming Fast Citrus Feed every time you water this plant while in active growth.

Supplied as an established plant, approximately four years old and 55-75cm tall, already in fruit and ready to plant.

Please note: Some fruit may naturally drop during transit. Do not worry, with the right care, your tree will continue to grow and produce more fruit in its season.

Top Tips
  • For best results, bring indoors to a cool area for from October, before returning to the garden for summer from late March / April.
  • Feed with our Specialist Citrus Feed every month in spring and summer growth - they are hungry fellows.
Care Information
  • Citrus tend not to thrive in centrally heated homes, so from mid-June to late September, give plants a treat and transfer them outside to make the most of the available sunshine - but remember they are not frost tolerant so will need bringing under cover if cold nights threaten.
  • In summer, water freely - ideally with rainwater, while in winter you can reduce the amount - allowing the surface to partially dry out before watering again.
  • Always allow excess water to drain away as overwatering in winter is one of the commonest problems, so err on the dry side.
  • Only minimal pruning is required to reshape or remove dead or damaged shoots.
