Description

Bring the Mediterranean to your patio, conservatory or home with this compact Kumquat Orange tree, already at least 55cm tall and supplied carrying fruit for immediate impact.

Enjoy sweet, tangy kumquats alongside glossy evergreen foliage and beautifully fragrant, star-shaped white blossom. Decorative in every season and productive too, this compact citrus makes a striking feature while offering the pleasure of picking your own fruit.

Unlike most citrus fruits, kumquats can be eaten whole. Their naturally sweet peel balances the sharper, juicy flesh inside, creating a refreshing flavour that works beautifully eaten fresh, made into marmalade or added to drinks and desserts.

Easy to grow and capable of cropping over a long season, this ornamental tree is ideal for a sunny patio during warmer weather or a bright conservatory. Move it to a light, frost-free position before winter temperatures arrive.

Feed regularly with Blooming Fast Citrus Feed whenever watering during active growth to support healthy foliage, flowering and fruit production.

Supplied as an established plant in a 4 litre pot, approximately four years old and 55-75cm tall, already in fruit and ready to plant.

Please note: Some fruit may naturally drop during transit. Do not worry, with the right care, your tree will continue to grow and produce more fruit in its season.

Top Tips
  • For best results, bring indoors to a cool area for from October, before returning to the garden for summer from late March / April.
  • Feed with our Specialist Citrus Feed every month in spring and summer growth - they are hungry fellows.
Care Information
  • Citrus tend not to thrive in centrally heated homes, so from mid-June to late September, give plants a treat and transfer them outside to make the most of the available sunshine - but remember they are not frost tolerant so will need bringing under cover if cold nights threaten.
  • In summer, water freely - ideally with rainwater, while in winter you can reduce the amount - allowing the surface to partially dry out before watering again.
  • Always allow excess water to drain away as overwatering in winter is one of the commonest problems, so err on the dry side.
  • Only minimal pruning is required to reshape or remove dead or damaged shoots.
