Description

Bring a touch of regal splendour to your garden with Hydrangea 'Deep Purple Dance'. This stunning variety showcases rich, deep purple mophead blooms that stand out beautifully against fresh green foliage, creating an unmissable display from summer into autumn.

The unique colour of ‘Deep Purple Dance’ is a talking point all on its own. Thanks to its ability to respond to soil pH, you can influence the hue of your blooms - grow it in acidic soil for cooler, deeper blues or in neutral to alkaline conditions for the full, rich purple tones.

Highly versatile, this hydrangea thrives in garden beds, mixed borders, or large patio pots. Once established, it's incredibly low maintenance, with just an occasional prune to maintain shape needed, regular watering, and a top-up of feed in spring will keep it performing at its best.

Supplied as an established plant in a 2 litre pot, ready to plant.

Top Tips
To extend the seasonal interest, leave some flowerheads on the plants over winter, where they will look gorgeous covered with frost  – and of course, they will provide shelter for overwintering wildlife.
Care Information
  • Just plant in position, water well, and add some fertiliser - this will burst into growth and flower profusely all summer!
  • These plants are at their best in moist soil as long as it is well-drained, in sun or part shade. A moisture-loving plant, remember to water regularly and deeply.
  • Hardy in the UK, although frost can cause some damage to young buds, reducing the number of flowers, so protect your plant with fleece if freezing weather is forecast.
  • Pruning is generally best carried out in early spring. A general tidy-up is usually all that is needed and consists of removing the dead bloom from each stem, cutting back to the first strong, healthy pair of buds down from the faded flower.
  • As hydrangeas flower on the previous year's growth, in spring cut out one or two of the oldest stems at the base to encourage the production of new, replacement growth that will carry more flowers.
