A reliable and colourful addition to the garden, bringing masses of golden blooms from late summer into autumn.
Rudbeckia 'Goldsturm' is a neat, clump-forming perennial that bursts into flower from July to October, filling borders with warm colour as many earlier displays begin to fade. It produces an abundance of uniform golden-yellow daisies, each surrounding a rich brown centre and glowing like little pools of sunshine.
Fully hardy, the plant dies back below ground during winter before returning with renewed vigour in spring. It becomes fuller and more impressive as it establishes, producing months of flowers that look superb in the middle of a border or in a large patio container.
Growing to around 70–80cm tall, its toothed, slightly hairy leaves form a compact mound, filling seasonal gaps and providing an attractive green backdrop before the flowers appear.
Easy to grow, robust and low maintenance, 'Goldsturm' generally holds itself upright without staking. Cut the old stems back to ground level in late winter, or leave them standing for longer to provide shelter for overwintering insects.
A recipient of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, this proven perennial is an excellent choice for gardeners of all experience levels and will return reliably year after year.
Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, ready to plant.
