Description
The Hardy Fern Collection brings woodland polish to cool corners, north-facing beds, patio containers and quieter spaces where some flowering plants can struggle.
This trio gives you three different foliage effects in one easy planting scheme. Korean Rock Fern adds neat evergreen structure and glossy, finely cut fronds, while Japanese Painted Fern brings a softer, silvery finish through the growing season. And finally, the Prolific Copper Shield Fern completes the mix with fresh copper-toned new growth that matures to rich green.
Plant these ferns together for a layered woodland effect, or split them through shady borders to repeat the look across the garden. They thrive in partial to full shade, in fertile, humus-rich soil that stays moist but drains well.
With evergreen and deciduous interest, proven hardiness and strong container potential, this collection gives difficult shade a proper glow-up.

All ferns love a good pampering their first two years to get them established — lots of water and humous.
Care Information
- Prepare the soil well and deeply before you plant your fern, removing all weeds and adding plenty of well-rotted organic matter such as leaves mold or composted bark.
- Ferns need both moisture and good drainage, so a good, rich mulch helps considerably.
- Plant your fern shallowly, with the crown flush with the surrounding soil and keep garden debris away from the base.
- In spring, apply a new layer of mulch for the new growing year.
Delivery Information
Our experienced team at the nursery will always carefully package and send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive once you receive and plant them. Although most plants are extremely tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme of weather conditions, we always avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme frosts or heat is forecast. We also avoid dispatching orders over Bank Holiday weekends.
Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. If you have ordered a 'pre-order' item, these will be sent out as soon as possible after the quoted dispatch date and we generally ship your entire order with any pre-ordered items. Once your order has been dispatched, we will send you an email with details on how you can track it.
We send most of our orders via a fully tracked courier service with Yodel. We will send you a tracking link as soon as your order has been dispatched. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, we will not require a signature on delivery, and we ask out couriers to leave your item in a safe place ad your delivery address.
