Each 'Hot Spot' bloom shines bright golden yellow, perfectly contrasted with a bold red blotched throat, giving a fiery two-tone effect that can be seen across the garden.

Also known as a Montbretia, this Crocosmia carries the coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit, demonstrating its reliability in the garden. These dependable perennials return year after year, are hardy through UK winters, and resist most common garden problems.

'Hot Spot' has a clump-forming habit with arching sprays of flowers above its bold green leaves, making it as structural as it is colourful. It thrives in borders, where it partners beautifully with ornamental grasses, echinacea, or rudbeckia for a bold late-summer show.

It's also a superb choice for cut flowers. Just snip a stem or two and you've got instant indoor cheer, a little reminder of summer sunshine for the table or a vase.

Top Tips

For maximum impact, plant Crocosmia in groups or drifts. Their sword-like foliage adds height and structure, while the fiery flowers glow brightest when planted in bold swathes.

Care Information

Planting Advice for your Crocosmia:

Corms should be planted like any other bulb and are easiest to plant if you just dig a hole about 10cm deep and space a handful about 2cm apart. This will give you a good-sized clump straight away and you can lift and divide clumps as they expand.
If you prefer a more spaced display, then plant them in clumps in groups of 5 about 10cm apart. If your soil is heavy, add some horticultural grit to the planting hole.

Aftercare Advice:

Water well and regularly.
Mulch corms in winter to preserve moisture.
Lift and divide clumps in spring if flowering diminishes.

Pruning Advice:

Cut back dead leaves in spring.

Our experienced team at the nursery will always carefully package and send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive once you receive and plant them. Although most plants are extremely tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme of weather conditions, we always avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme frosts or heat is forecast. We also avoid dispatching orders over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. If you have ordered a 'pre-order' item, these will be sent out as soon as possible after the quoted dispatch date and we generally ship your entire order with any pre-ordered items. Once your order has been dispatched, we will send you an email with details on how you can track it.

We send most of our orders via a fully tracked courier service with Yodel. We will send you a tracking link as soon as your order has been dispatched. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, we will not require a signature on delivery, and we ask out couriers to leave your item in a safe place ad your delivery address.
