Description

A breathtaking late-flowering variety of daffodil, the Narcissus ‘Pheasant’s Eye’ will provide you with a memorable spring garden display. 'Pheasant's Eye' flowers all the way into June, with elegant white flowers, each with a small red and yellow cup.

This versatile variety can be planted in pots, containers or straight into the ground from the start of autumn for a striking display the following spring. They are very easy to grow, plant them in groups of 6-10 for maximum impact, in full sun or semi-shade, either on their own or with other spring-flowering bulbs of different colours for an eye-catching display.

Supplied as a collection of 12 bulbs, ready to plant in the autumn. Growing to a height of 40cm.

Top Tips
  • For a natural look, throw a handful onto a grassy area and plant them where they fall.
  • Which way up? Usually pointy end up, but if you are not sure, plant the bulb on its side and it will right itself.
  • Add mycorrhizal fungi to the roots before planting to encourage faster and more reliable establishment.
  • Propagate by removing offsets in the early summer to populate new areas.

Care Information

Planting advice for your bulbs:

  • Plant 10-15cm deep and 10cm apart in sun or partial shade, in well-drained, fertile soil.
  • Spring-flowering bulbs should be planted in the autumn for displays next season. This allows them to establish a good root system before the weather becomes too cold.
  • Please check the bag for any additional planting instructions.
  • Use a good-quality potting compost such as our premium professional compost for the best results.
  • The bulbs are fine to plant even if a little green growth is showing; they will just need a good watering when you plant them, and thereafter only when the soil is dry.
  • Plant in herbaceous borders, in pots, or in the ground to naturalise.

Aftercare advice for your bulbs:

  • Water frequently and if in pots, ensure that the compost doesn't dry out.
  • While all the energy that a bulb needs in order to grow is stored in the bulb itself, they will do better if you feed them when in active green growth.
  • Leave foliage to die back naturally after flowering; never tie up the foliage or cut it back while still green. This allows as much energy as possible to go back into the bulbs for the following year.
  • Leave them in the ground once they die back and they will come back with bigger and better displays each year.
