Description

This mix of 100 Ipheion bulbs brings charming, easy spring display to gardens of almost any size. Also known as Starflowers, these fully hardy bulbs produce masses of colourful, star-shaped blooms from March to May, creating a fresh lift after the duller months of winter.

Their sweet honey fragrance makes them especially rewarding near patios, paths, doorways and seating areas, where the scent can be enjoyed close up. The flowers sit above bright green, grass-like foliage, forming relaxed clumps that look natural, pretty and wonderfully cheerful.

This generous 100-bulb mix gives you plenty to work with. Use them to soften border edges, weave them through spring displays, or plant into patio containers for a low-effort splash of early colour. They also combine beautifully with other spring bulbs, helping extend the season with a light, sparkling effect.

Top Tips

Plant as early as you can in autumn so that the bulbs can establish a good root system before the weather becomes too cold.
Plant in herbaceous borders, alpine gardens or pots, or scatter through grass to naturalise.
Try growing in pots in an unheated greenhouse or conservatory to enjoy long-flowering displays.
If planted in pots, be sure to water frequently and keep moist.

Care Information

Plant at twice the depth of the height of the bulb and four times their width apart, in moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil.
Leave in the ground once they die back � they will come back bigger and better each year.
While all the energy that a bulb needs in order to grow is stored in the bulb itself, they will do better if you feed them when in active green growth.
Add a protective mulch in very cold conditions.

Delivery Information

Our experienced team at the nursery will always carefully package and send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive once you receive and plant them. Although most plants are extremely tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme of weather conditions, we always avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme frosts or heat is forecast. We also avoid dispatching orders over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. If you have ordered a 'pre-order' item, these will be sent out as soon as possible after the quoted dispatch date and we generally ship your entire order with any pre-ordered items. Once your order has been dispatched, we will send you an email with details on how you can track it.

We send most of our orders via a fully tracked courier service with Yodel. We will send you a tracking link as soon as your order has been dispatched. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, we will not require a signature on delivery, and we ask out couriers to leave your item in a safe place ad your delivery address.

If you have delivery instruction and require our courier to leave your item in a specific place, please let us know - there is an option to leave a message for the courier at the checkout.

For smaller and single-item orders, we may send these via the post with Royal Mail - Tracking will not be available for orders sent via this method.
