Description

Yellow oyster mushrooms grow in radiant clusters that look like tiny flower heads and cook to a delicate, nutty finish. This compact 3 litre indoor kit turns a windowsill into a mini harvest station, delivering repeated crops for outstanding value.

Everything is included so the setup is simple. The substrate arrives already spawned, the cover compost is bagged and ready, and the sturdy tray and lid help keep conditions consistent. Keep the surface evenly moist, follow the easy-to-follow steps and watch as pins become vivid yellow mushrooms. Because the variety is naturally delicate, eating them fresh from your own tray makes a noticeable difference in flavour and texture.

Expect three or more pickings from each kit, so you will have enough for risotto, pizza, noodles, or add lift to weekend breakfasts. Yellow oysters are rarely seen in shops, so this kit is both practical and exciting for keen home cooks.

It is also an excellent gift choice. Gardeners appreciate the novelty of growing a crop without a garden, food lovers enjoy the finesse of a rare variety, and children are fascinated by the day-by-day changes.

How to use:

Take the bag containing cover compost from the base tray and store it in a cool place.
Place the base tray with the plastic lid on top at 20-25C for 4 or more days until the substrate turns white with mycelium.
Punch ten holes in each side of the cover compost bag, soak it in 0.5 litres of water for 20 minutes, then spread the compost evenly and loosely over the substrate.
Replace the lid and leave for 5-8 days at 20-25C until white mycelium shows on the surface, then move the tray to a cooler position at 15-18C.
Keep the surface damp with regular misting.
When baby mushrooms appear, water gently if needed. Harvest as they develop, first around the edges, then the centre.

Delivery Information

Our experienced team at the nursery will always carefully package and send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive once you receive and plant them. Although most plants are extremely tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme of weather conditions, we always avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme frosts or heat is forecast. We also avoid dispatching orders over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. If you have ordered a 'pre-order' item, these will be sent out as soon as possible after the quoted dispatch date and we generally ship your entire order with any pre-ordered items. Once your order has been dispatched, we will send you an email with details on how you can track it.

We send most of our orders via a fully tracked courier service with Yodel. We will send you a tracking link as soon as your order has been dispatched. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, we will not require a signature on delivery, and we ask out couriers to leave your item in a safe place ad your delivery address.

If you have delivery instruction and require our courier to leave your item in a specific place, please let us know - there is an option to leave a message for the courier at the checkout.

For smaller and single-item orders, we may send these via the post with Royal Mail - Tracking will not be available for orders sent via this method.
