Description

South Africa’s most dazzling daisy is ready to light up UK gardens with months of extraordinary colour.

From the moment the first flowers open, this remarkable African daisy demands attention. Each bloom begins with a deep violet centre, blending through rich purple before finishing in a brilliant flash of golden yellow at the petal tips.

The colour combination is so vivid and unusual that it creates an instant focal point wherever it grows.

Better still, Osteospermum ‘Purple Sun’ has an exceptionally long flowering season. From late April through to November, it produces bloom after bloom, keeping pots and borders bright for months.

It thrives in sunny, dry conditions and needs very little fuss once established. Ideal for patio pots, hanging baskets and the front of borders, it forms a neat, rounded mound covered in flowers.

The nectar-rich blooms also help attract butterflies, bringing even more colour and movement to the garden.

Top Tips
  • Deadhead regularly for more blooms.
Care Information
  • Plant approx. 20cm apart to allow them room to grow.
  • Feed using a high-potash feed such as Blooming Fast Superior Soluble Fertiliser for Flowers & Fruits, to encourage flowering.
  • Dead head when flowers fade to encourage more flowers.
  • Remember that plants are frost tender and should be protected from frost at all times.
  • Best treated as an annual or alternatively grow in pots which you can move indoors in autumn.
