Description

Welcome Hydrangea 'Groundbreaker Blush' to your garden, the world's first truly ground-covering Hydrangea paniculata!

This remarkable new variety produces spectacular panicles of blush-pink flowers that develop beautifully through summer and into autumn, all on a naturally low-growing plant.

Unlike traditional hydrangeas that grow upwards, 'Groundbreaker Blush' remains compact and spreads outwards, forming a generous carpet of flowers for up to 100 days.

See an eye-catching transformation of colour as the blooms start off white, before maturing to rosy pink as the season continues.

It combines exceptional flower power with easy care, thriving in well-drained soil and performing well in positions from partial shade to full sun. Fully hardy, disease resistant and highly attractive to pollinators, it brings lasting colour, movement and interest to the garden.

Create impressive ground-level impact with less effort, thanks to a tidy, spreading hydrangea that flowers for weeks and helps cover bare soil beautifully.

Top Tips

Hydrangeas love to be kept well watered, and will produce bigger, glossier, more substantial leaves when provided with regular moisture.

Try to use rainwater to water hydrangeas, since mains hard water can affect the flower colour.

Care Information
  • This plant is at its best in most soil as long as it is well drained, in sun or partial shade. The more sun the plant gets, the better the flower colour.
  • A moisture-loving plant, remember to water regularly and deeply.
  • Hardy in the UK, frost can cause a lot of damage to young buds, reducing the number of flowers, so it’s advisable to protect your plant with fleece if freezing weather is likely.
  • Pruning is generally best carried out early spring. A general tidy up is usually all that is needed and consists of removing the dead bloom from each stem, cutting back to the first strong, healthy pair of buds down from the faded flower.
  • As Hydrangeas flower on the previous year's growth, cut out 1 or 2 of the oldest stems, in spring, at the base to encourage the production of new, replacement growth that will carry more flowers.
