Craft hanging displays to be proud of with this delightful ‘Hula’ Begonia mix.

This is a superb new breed and the world's first trailing variety of a Semperflorens Begonia. Boasting all the beauty and reliability, but rather than growing in an upright and sturdy manner, will instead trail with an arching habit to make a real impact over the sides of hanging baskets, window boxes, and even your favourite patio pots.

‘Hula’ adds a vibrant splash of colour to all manner of gardens, with pleasing shades of red, pink, purple, and white growing from healthy plants. Even more character is added, as the petals flow around central yellow eyes.

The foliage will grow darker on the varieties with darker coloured flowers, such as the purple.

While looking fantastic when hanging, the ‘Hula’ mix can also be planted in the ground after the last frosts have passed for the year, to fill beds and borders. Just be sure to plant in a sunny or partially shaded spot in the garden, for best results.

Thankfully, these Begonias are low-maintenance and perfect for all gardeners, while also being drought, rain, and heat tolerant to ensure impressive displays remain strong.

Care Guide

• Trailing Begonia grow well in sun and shade, and the trailing habit makes it perfect for growing in pots and hanging baskets.
• For best results keep plants well watered, and feed fortnightly with a high-potash fertiliser to prolong flowering.
• Begonia plugs can be planted straight into containers and baskets but are best potted on first and grown on in warm, frost-free conditions.
• The Begonia plants can then be transplanted into their final containers once they have increased in size.
• When all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise the plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days.
• Choose a sunny or semi-shaded position that is protected from strong winds - a cold frame is ideal.
• Feed and water plants frequently throughout the growing season taking care not to over-water, as this will cause new Begonia flower buds to drop.

Although most plants are extremely tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme of weather conditions, we always avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme frosts or heat is forecast. We also avoid dispatching orders over Bank Holiday weekends.

To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, we will not require a signature on delivery, and we ask out couriers to leave your item in a safe place ad your delivery address.
