Description

'Hawaii' is the latest Osteospermum 'Akila Sunset Shades' mix to make its way to our summer gardens - and what a dazzler it is!

It produces masses of daisy-like blooms that continue for months, bringing warm, uplifting tones to patios, pathways and borders. The flowers arrive early, giving you a long, cheerful display through the brightest part of the year. It is also known as African Daisy.

The plants stay neat and compact, forming tidy mounds that fill out quickly and look good from every angle. They smother themselves with flowers, creating full, generous colour rather than sparse patches.

This makes the mix ideal for containers, hanging basket toppers, raised beds or border edging. Any space that needs a lift instantly feels brighter!

This variety thrives with minimal fuss, which makes it an excellent choice for beginners. Once established, it stays in flower with very little attention and copes well with the ups and downs of the British summer.

Care Information

Planting Advice:

Unpack plugs immediately and stand them in water for an hour.
Plugs may be slightly dry or yellow after being in a dark box in the post, but they�ll quickly recover.
Put them somewhere warm, light and airy such as a windowsill or greenhouse.
Plant straight into containers and grow on for a week or two before placing out.
Give your plants a good water initially, then only when the top compost starts to dry.
They don�t like to be left in standing water.
Plant approximately 20cm apart to allow them room to grow.
Feed using a high-potash feed such as Blooming Fast Superior Soluble Fertiliser for Flowers & Fruits, to encourage flowering.

Aftercare Advice:

Regular maintenance and watering are essential to grow fabulous containers that last the whole season.
Check and water containers every day in summer, unless the compost is wet.
Aim to keep the compost moist but not soggy and avoid wetting the foliage and flowers.
From March to June, apply a general-purpose liquid fertiliser once a week.
Deadhead and trim your plants regularly to maintain shape and encourage new flowers.
Do not allow plants to set seed.

Delivery Information

Our experienced team at the nursery will always carefully package and send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive once you receive and plant them. Although most plants are extremely tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme of weather conditions, we always avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme frosts or heat is forecast. We also avoid dispatching orders over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. If you have ordered a 'pre-order' item, these will be sent out as soon as possible after the quoted dispatch date and we generally ship your entire order with any pre-ordered items. Once your order has been dispatched, we will send you an email with details on how you can track it.

We send most of our orders via a fully tracked courier service with Yodel. We will send you a tracking link as soon as your order has been dispatched. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, we will not require a signature on delivery, and we ask out couriers to leave your item in a safe place ad your delivery address.

If you have delivery instruction and require our courier to leave your item in a specific place, please let us know - there is an option to leave a message for the courier at the checkout.

For smaller and single-item orders, we may send these via the post with Royal Mail - Tracking will not be available for orders sent via this method.
