Description

Bring a welcome burst of colour to the colder months with Primrose ‘Bonelli Bicolour’. Its bright red, blue, yellow and purple flowers are beautifully marked with contrasting white and golden centres, creating an eye-catching display in patio pots, beds and borders.

These elegant primroses are wonderfully easy to grow, fully winter hardy and particularly useful for brightening partly shaded areas of the garden. Their early flowers can appear from autumn and continue into spring, bringing valuable colour when many other plants are resting.

They are ideal for planting beneath shrubs and trees, where the vivid flowers stand out beautifully against rosettes of wrinkled, oval evergreen foliage. They can also be grown in containers or displayed in a cool conservatory or greenhouse.

Once established, the plants gradually form generous clumps. These can be lifted and divided over time, providing additional plants for spreading colour around the garden. Reliable, resilient and low maintenance, they require very little attention once planted.

Supplied as 10 garden ready plants, ready to plant.

Top Tips
It is best to acclimatise your primrose plants to outside conditions over 7 to 10 days, before planting out in their final positions.
Care Information
  • Choose a position in full sun or semi shade on any fertile, moist, well drained soil.
  • Keep well watered (but not waterlogged) until established - during the winter, avoid over-watering and don't allow water to sit in the crown as this may cause the plants to rot in cold conditions.
  • Deadhead spent blooms to encourage more flowers.
  • Established or overcrowded clumps of primroses can be divided in late autumn and early spring.
