Viola 'Sorbet Jump Up' Mix

‘Sorbet Jump Up’ is a fantastic mixture of stunning flowers. Looking like miniature pansies, they are exceptionally free flowering over an incredibly long period.

The delicately fragranced flowers explode in bright orange, yellow, blue, purple and white and can be a single colour, bicolour and tricolour. They are naturally compact plants, however, they will grow quickly, easily filling patio planters and hanging baskets and they look amazing planted as an edging for beds and borders or in a formal bedding scheme.

Extremely robust and hardy, ‘Sorbet Jump Up’ will flower from autumn and right through winter, as long as it doesn’t get too frosty, and continue into the following spring, when it reaches a crescendo of colour as the days begin to get warmer and longer.

Supplied as 30 garden ready plants, ready to plant in autumn, growing to a height of 15 cm (6 in) and spread of 30 cm (1 ft).

Care Guide

Planting Advice for your Violas

• Unpack plugs immediately and stand them in water for an hour.
• If you can’t do this, they can sit in their mini greenhouse for a week if upright and not too wet.
• Plugs may be slightly dry or yellow after being in a dark box in the post, but they’ll quickly recover.
• Put them somewhere warm, light and airy such as a windowsill or greenhouse.
• When potting on, handle plugs carefully. Pot on using our 9cm pots in Shuttle Trays, using good multi-purpose compost.
• Alternatively plant straight into baskets and grow on for a week or two before hanging up.
• Give your plants a good water initially, then only when the top compost starts to dry. They don’t like to be left in standing water.
• Plant approx. 20cm (8in) apart to allow them room to grow.
• Feed using a high-potash feed such as Blooming Fast Superior Soluble Fertiliser for Flowers & Fruits, to encourage flowering.
• Dead head when flowers fade to encourage more flowers.

Aftercare Advice

• Regular maintenance and watering are essential to grow fabulous baskets that last the whole season.
• Check and water baskets every day in summer, (unless the compost is wet).
• Aim to keep the compost moist but not soggy and avoid wetting the foliage and flowers.
• From March to June, apply a general-purpose liquid fertiliser once a week.

Pruning and Trimming

• Deadhead and trim your plants regularly to maintain shape and encourage new flowers.
• Do not allow plants to set seed.

Although most plants are extremely tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme of weather conditions, we always avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme frosts or heat is forecast. We also avoid dispatching orders over Bank Holiday weekends.

We send most of our orders via a fully tracked courier service with Yodel. We will send you a tracking link as soon as your order has been dispatched. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, we will not require a signature on delivery, and we ask out couriers to leave your item in a safe place ad your delivery address.
