Description

Primula 'Pretty Polly' Mixed takes the familiar polyanthus and gives it a dramatic new twist, with large, fully double flowers held above neat foliage on strong stems. The result is a bolder, cleaner and more impressive spring display, especially in pots by the door, patio containers, window boxes or the front of a border.

Each flower can reach up to 5cm across, and a single stem can carry up to 15 blooms, giving these plants a generous, flower-packed presence without needing a large amount of space. The mixed shades add warmth, depth and charm, creating a display that looks carefully chosen rather than simply planted.

This ground-breaking mix has been more than 20 years in development, bred to combine showy double flowers with robust perennial performance. Because the plants do not waste energy setting seed, they bloom for longer, carrying colour through spring and at least into mid-May.

Grow them on after arrival, plant into containers or garden positions, then enjoy a polyanthus mix that offers something genuinely different.

Top Tips

Plant primroses where they can get some shade - as a woodland native they thrive out of the sun.

Care Information

Primroses enjoy moist, well-drained soil.
Established plants can be planted out anytime unless the soil is waterlogged or frozen.
If planting in a container, fill with multipurpose compost about three quarters full.
Remove the plant from its existing pot or tray and carefully place into position.
Add the remaining soil to the plant pot and press firmly into place then water well.
If planting in the ground, dig a hole the same size as the plant�s root ball.
Place the plant in position, firm down the soil and water immediately.
To prolong flowering, remove spent flower heads and remove any yellow leaves.

Delivery Information

Our experienced team at the nursery will always carefully package and send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive once you receive and plant them. Although most plants are extremely tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme of weather conditions, we always avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme frosts or heat is forecast. We also avoid dispatching orders over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. If you have ordered a 'pre-order' item, these will be sent out as soon as possible after the quoted dispatch date and we generally ship your entire order with any pre-ordered items. Once your order has been dispatched, we will send you an email with details on how you can track it.

We send most of our orders via a fully tracked courier service with Yodel. We will send you a tracking link as soon as your order has been dispatched. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, we will not require a signature on delivery, and we ask out couriers to leave your item in a safe place ad your delivery address.

If you have delivery instruction and require our courier to leave your item in a specific place, please let us know - there is an option to leave a message for the courier at the checkout.

For smaller and single-item orders, we may send these via the post with Royal Mail - Tracking will not be available for orders sent via this method.
