'Blue Heron' will do well in both full sun or a shaded position in the garden and is perfect for planting in the front of beds and borders as it will keep naturally neat and compact. CARE INFORMATION

Top Tips

Corydalis may go dormant in very dry summers, so keep it well watered.

Care Guide

  • Best grown in humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in a semi-shaded position, avoiding exposed locations. Will grow well in a sunny border if kept regularly watered to stop it becoming dormant in the summer.
  • As the plant dies back the leaves will yellow and the stems wither - at this point you can cut them down to ground level, and you may get a second flush.
  • When new growth emerges in spring, add a slow-release fertiliser to the soil to encourage longer blooming, and continue to feed and water throughout the growing season.
  • Look out for slugs and snails eating young leaves.
  • Propagate by division in autumn.
