Description

Bring a fresh burst of height and colour to your summer garden with this snapdragon 'Double Shot' Mix. The blooms are double, open and softly ruffled. They stand tall and look elegant, yet they are incredibly easy to grow.

The stems grow strong and upright, helping the plants stay neat in both borders and pots. They don't bend or flop, so are ideal for containers, mixed plantings and the front or middle of a border.

The colours in the mix blend beautifully. The tall stems sway gently in the breeze. These plants also offer good value because each one produces a steady run of fresh blooms. You can even take a few stems indoors for cut flowers and still enjoy plenty of colour outside.

Each plant grows to around 50cm tall and spreads to about 25cm. This gives a nice, balanced shape that works well in many garden situations. The plants enjoy sunny positions and grow happily in standard garden soil. They are frost tender annuals, so they should be planted out once the risk of frost has passed.

Many gardeners like using these snapdragons to add height to patio pots. They also look excellent mixed with other summer bedding like petunias, lobelia or geraniums.

Deadhead faded snapdragon flowers frequently to encourage more blooms to be produced.

Care Information

Planting Advice:

Unpack plugs immediately and stand them in water for an hour.
Plugs may be slightly dry or yellow after being in a dark box in the post, but they�ll quickly recover.
Put them somewhere warm, light and airy such as a windowsill or greenhouse.
Plant straight into containers and grow on for a week or two before placing out.
Give your plants a good water initially, then only when the top compost starts to dry.
They don�t like to be left in standing water.
Plant approx. 20cm apart to allow them room to grow.
Feed using a high-potash feed such as Blooming Fast Superior Soluble Fertiliser for Flowers & Fruits, to encourage flowering.
Dead head when flowers fade to encourage more flowers.

Aftercare advice:

Regular maintenance and watering are essential to grow fabulous containers that last the whole season.
Check and water containers every day in summer, (unless the compost is wet).
Aim to keep the compost moist but not soggy and avoid wetting the foliage and flowers.
From March to June, apply a general-purpose liquid fertiliser once a week.
Deadhead and trim your plants regularly to maintain shape and encourage new flowers.
Do not allow plants to set seed.

Although most plants are extremely tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme of weather conditions, we always avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme frosts or heat is forecast. We also avoid dispatching orders over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. If you have ordered a 'pre-order' item, these will be sent out as soon as possible after the quoted dispatch date and we generally ship your entire order with any pre-ordered items. Once your order has been dispatched, we will send you an email with details on how you can track it.

We send most of our orders via a fully tracked courier service with Yodel. We will send you a tracking link as soon as your order has been dispatched. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, we will not require a signature on delivery, and we ask out couriers to leave your item in a safe place ad your delivery address.

If you have delivery instruction and require our courier to leave your item in a specific place, please let us know - there is an option to leave a message for the courier at the checkout.

For smaller and single-item orders, we may send these via the post with Royal Mail - Tracking will not be available for orders sent via this method.
