Description

If you thought you knew lavender, think again! Pink English Lavender 'Rosea' is an absolute showstopper.

While most lavenders paint the garden purple, from June to September 'Rosea' sends up slender spikes of rose-pink blossom, rising from a neat, silvery mound of fragrant grey-green foliage. The scent alone is reason enough to grow them - warm, sweet and unmistakably lavender - drifting across the garden on a summer's afternoon.

Recommended by the RHS as 'Plants for Pollinators', these are genuine wildlife magnets, drawing bees and butterflies in their droves throughout the long flowering season. And because these are true English lavender plants, they are fully hardy and proven to withstand even the coldest of British winters without any fuss or special treatment.

Compact and tidy in habit, they are brilliant for pots, borders, raised beds and pathways alike. Once established they are impressively drought-tolerant, thriving in free-draining, sunny spots with very little care needed.

Supplied as a set of three established plants in 9cm pots, ready to plant.

Top Tips
Enjoy a second flush of flowers if cut back after the first wave of blooms has faded.
Care Information
  • Drought-tolerant, lavender thrives in a sunny border, container, herb or gravel gardens.
  • Best planted between April and when the soil is warming up, ensure the plants gets really good drainage.
  • There's no need to improve the soil as lavender thrives in any poor or moderately fertile conditions.
  • Lavenders should be pruned every year to keep them compact.
  • For established plants, use secateurs to remove flower stalks and about 2.5cm of the current year’s growth - usually in late summer, after flowering -  making sure that some green growth remains.
  • You can prune lighty in April if required.
