Add months of soft, romantic colour to pots and borders with this compact, long-flowering hardy perennial.

Lychnis 'Petite Jenny' produces masses of double, soft pink blooms from late spring into summer, each one held above neat, dark green foliage for a light, airy display. The flowers have a charming, fluffy appearance that works beautifully in cottage garden borders, mixed perennial planting schemes and patio containers.

Unlike many traditional Lychnis varieties, 'Petite Jenny' is sterile, so it will not scatter seedlings around the garden. That gives a tidier, more controlled plant with a longer flowering performance, ideal for gardeners who want generous colour without unwanted spread.

Reaching around 40cm tall, this compact perennial fits easily into smaller spaces, front-of-border positions and container displays. It grows well in full sun or partial shade, thrives in moist but well-drained soil and needs little fuss once settled. Bees and butterflies are drawn to the flowers too, bringing welcome life and movement through the warmer months.

Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, ready to plant.

Top Tips

Be sure to cut back hard after the first wave of flowering in the summer, in order to possibly see a second flurry of blooms in early autumn.

Care Information

Best planted in full sun or a partially shaded location, in soil that is moist, fertile soil.
Dig a square hole as deep as the roots as supplied, and approximately 1.5x as wide.
Add Mycorrhizal fungi to the planting hole to help the plant establish quicker.
Spread the roots gently and place into the planting hole.
Mix well rotted compost or manure with the soil taken from the hole and then use to backfill around the plant.
Keep well-watered until established.

Our experienced team at the nursery will always carefully package and send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive once you receive and plant them. Although most plants are extremely tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme of weather conditions, we always avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme frosts or heat is forecast. We also avoid dispatching orders over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. If you have ordered a 'pre-order' item, these will be sent out as soon as possible after the quoted dispatch date and we generally ship your entire order with any pre-ordered items. Once your order has been dispatched, we will send you an email with details on how you can track it.

We send most of our orders via a fully tracked courier service with Yodel. We will send you a tracking link as soon as your order has been dispatched. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, we will not require a signature on delivery, and we ask out couriers to leave your item in a safe place ad your delivery address.

If you have delivery instruction and require our courier to leave your item in a specific place, please let us know - there is an option to leave a message for the courier at the checkout.

For smaller and single-item orders, we may send these via the post with Royal Mail - Tracking will not be available for orders sent via this method.
