Description

Height, strength, colour and reliability, this is a classic variety of daffodil that ticks all the boxes! Narcissus 'Dutch Master' is one of the most recognisable daffodils for good reason, it puts on a proper show.

Each flower features a large, trumpet-shaped bloom in vivid golden yellow, held high on sturdy stems that don't flop or fade too fast, after flowering in mid-spring,

It naturalises incredibly well in grass and open borders, but also looks striking in large pots or grouped beneath trees. It’s that rare bulb that offers both structural height and warmth, without ever being fussy. Plus, it's an RHS Award of Garden Merit winner, so has been tested and proven to perform in UK conditions.

These daffodils are also a real gift to pollinators. They provide an early nectar source and inject instant life into the garden after the quiet of winter.

Whether you’re planting up your front garden, refreshing a mixed border, or just fancy a bold spring lift in containers, this is a top pick. Low maintenance, highly reliable, and one of the easiest ways to guarantee spring success.

Supplied as 15 bulbs, size 12/14, ready to plant in autumn.

Top Tips
  • Which way up? Usually pointy end upwards, but if you are not sure, plant the bulb on its side and it will eventually right itself.
  • Add mycorrhizal fungi to the roots before planting to encourage faster and more reliable establishment.
  • For long-lasting cut flowers, soak stems in warm water before placing in your vase.
Care Information

Planting Advice for your bulbs:

  • It is best to get your bulbs in the ground as soon as you can so that they can establish a good root system before the weather becomes too cold.
  • Please check the bag for any additional planting instructions.
  • Plant bulbs 10-15cm deep and 10cm apart.
  • They are fine to plant even if a little green growth is showing; they will just need a good watering when you plant them, and thereafter only when the soil is dry.
  • Leave them in the ground once they die back, they will come back bigger and better each year.
  • While all the energy that a bulb needs in order to grow is stored in the bulb itself, they will do better if you feed them when in active green growth.
  • Plant in herbaceous borders, in pots, or leave in the ground to naturalise.

Aftercare Advice for your bulbs:

  • Water frequently and if in pots, ensure that the compost doesn't dry out.
