Add some instant Mediterranean impact to your garden with this striking Cordyline 'Red Star'. This compact and evergreen variety develops arching, deep red, sword-shaped leaves, as well as sweetly fragranced, ivory white, summertime flowers once matured.

Perfect for growing in patio pots, where it can really show off. As your 'Red Star' matures, it will also become more frost hardy, therefore can be left outside in all but the coldest weather conditions.

Supplied as an established 60-80cm tall, established plant in a 7 litre pot, ready to plant.

Care Information

Water plants freely during the growing season, and sparingly in winter.
Feed monthly with a balanced, liquid fertiliser from spring to late summer.
Top-dress or pot up in spring. Although frost hardy, young Cordyline plants, and also coloured varieties are more prone to cold damage.
This can be prevented by tying up the foliage to reduce wind damage and prevent water collecting around growing points and causing rotting.
Winter hardy down to -5C. In areas prone to severe winters, wrap the trunk with layers of fleece and place a 15cm layer of mulch, such as bark, over the root area.
Move container grown plants to a frost-free location, such as a greenhouse, during periods of cold or wet weather - temporary shelter in a shed or garage will do.

Delivery Information

Our experienced team at the nursery will always carefully package and send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive once you receive and plant them. Although most plants are extremely tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme of weather conditions, we always avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme frosts or heat is forecast. We also avoid dispatching orders over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. If you have ordered a 'pre-order' item, these will be sent out as soon as possible after the quoted dispatch date and we generally ship your entire order with any pre-ordered items. Once your order has been dispatched, we will send you an email with details on how you can track it.

We send most of our orders via a fully tracked courier service with Yodel. We will send you a tracking link as soon as your order has been dispatched. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, we will not require a signature on delivery, and we ask out couriers to leave your item in a safe place ad your delivery address.

For smaller and single-item orders, we may send these via the post with Royal Mail - Tracking will not be available for orders sent via this method.
