Description

Patio Standard Rose 'Mary Berry' combines the generous flower shape of a classic Hybrid Tea with the lifted poise of a stylish standard. It brings creamy, fragrant blooms up where they can be seen, admired and enjoyed at close quarters.

Rounded, plump buds open into large, beautifully shaped flowers in creamy white, gently warmed with pale apricot and honey tones. Against the dark, leathery foliage, the blooms look rich, making this a superb choice for patios, smart entrances and sunny borders. The sweet tea-rose perfume adds another layer of pleasure, especially near a seating area or doorway.

Repeat flowering keeps the display returning from summer into autumn. Plant in a sunny position, water well while establishing, feed during the growing season and deadhead faded blooms to encourage fresh flowers.

Supplied as an established patio standard rose in a 7.5 litre pot, already at least 120cm tall and ready to plant.

Top Tips

When pruning, make sure that your secateurs are clean and sharp to prevent squashing stems and introducing disease.

Add mycorrhizal fungi to the roots when planting to help the plant establish quicker.

Trim old flower stems to shape early each spring, just before new growth starts.

Care Information

Pick the right container for your rose - half barrels are a great choice, but any large pot with good drainage holes is perfect.
Roses love sunshine and should receive sun for at least half the day, so position the pot with this in mind, remembering to position it before filling with compost as it may be too heavy to move once planted up.
Use a loam-based compost, with 20% multi-purpose compost added. Make sure that the mix does not include any type of granular or time release fertilizer as this may burn the roots.
Feed twice for more blooms. Late-March/April and again late July.
Prune lightly to deadhead, shape, and control disease.
Transplant into a larger container if you notice a decrease in blooms, and every 2 � 3 years to refresh the soil.
It is important that container-grown plants do not dry out � water regularly.

Our experienced team at the nursery will always carefully package and send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive once you receive and plant them. Although most plants are extremely tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme of weather conditions, we always avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme frosts or heat is forecast. We also avoid dispatching orders over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. If you have ordered a 'pre-order' item, these will be sent out as soon as possible after the quoted dispatch date and we generally ship your entire order with any pre-ordered items. Once your order has been dispatched, we will send you an email with details on how you can track it.

We send most of our orders via a fully tracked courier service with Yodel. We will send you a tracking link as soon as your order has been dispatched. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, we will not require a signature on delivery, and we ask out couriers to leave your item in a safe place ad your delivery address.

If you have delivery instruction and require our courier to leave your item in a specific place, please let us know - there is an option to leave a message for the courier at the checkout.

For smaller and single-item orders, we may send these via the post with Royal Mail - Tracking will not be available for orders sent via this method.
