Top Tips

• Leaves may be dried or frozen but for best flavour, use fresh and add last minute to dishes.
• Younger leaves have the best flavour and texture so remove and discard older leaves to encourage new growth and keep the plants tidy.
• Parsley likes a rich compost or fertile soil, so if growing in beds outdoors, dig in well-rotted manure to improve soil quality if necessary.

How to grow Parsley

• Sow outdoors, from March to July, thinly where they are to crop, 1.5cm (½in) deep, directly into finely prepared, moist but well-drained soil that has already been watered. Seedlings usually appear in 14-21 days. Thin seedlings to 30cm (12in) apart. Water well until plants are established. Sow seeds every few weeks for continuous cropping.
• Or to grow indoors all year round, sow 0.5cm (¼in) deep, thinly in small pots of compost. Water well and place in a warm position. A temperature of 15-20°C (60-68°F) is ideal. Plants can be grown on to maturity on a light windowsill.
• Harvesting: Pick the leaves as required (outdoor crops from May). Pick a few leaves from each plant so they regrow quickly.

Aftercare

• Cloche protection in autumn allows winter picking.
• Protect from frost in winter with a cloche or move potted plants indoors or into a cool greenhouse for new growth the following spring.

Although most plants are extremely tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme of weather conditions, we always avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme frosts or heat is forecast. We also avoid dispatching orders over Bank Holiday weekends.

Once your order has been dispatched, we will send you an email with details on how you can track it.

We send most of our orders via a fully tracked courier service with Yodel. We will send you a tracking link as soon as your order has been dispatched. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, we will not require a signature on delivery, and we ask out couriers to leave your item in a safe place ad your delivery address.

If you have delivery instruction and require our courier to leave your item in a specific place, please let us know - there is an option to leave a message for the courier at the checkout.

For smaller and single-item orders, we may send these via the post with Royal Mail - Tracking will not be available for orders sent via this method.
